Hello, I’m Jessica

I’m a fully qualified civil funeral celebrant working mainly across Somerset, Bath and Bristol, but sometimes further afield. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in funeral celebrancy and I am qualified to deliver civil funerals, scattering / interment of ashes ceremonies and memorials.

I will work with you to create a unique ceremony that reflects the life and personality of your loved one. The ceremony will be specifically tailored for you and I can give you advice and guidance about music, readings, poetry and other symbolic gestures or acts of remembrance to help you say goodbye to the person who has died.

When we meet, I will ask you questions about all aspects of your loved one’s life and I will give you lots of time to talk. After this initial meeting, we will work together to curate a fitting ceremony.

Before becoming a celebrant, I had a varied career; I’ve worked in the charity sector and in the criminal justice system. I was an actor, writer and musician for some time, working mainly in theatre. I still work as a musician and composer. I’m also a qualified mediator, which means that I can help to de-escalate the conflicts within families that can sometimes arise during times of bereavement.

I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, which is a professional institute for fully qualified civil funeral celebrants. I also adhere to a thorough code of practice, so you can be assured that my work is of the highest professional standard.
